Reflection

Reflection

In this part I am going to write what I have learned in writing these essays. As a start, I recognized new forms of writing which are the compare and contrast and procedure. I learned that in writing compare and contrast essays I have to explain the issue that I am going to write about in the introduction part. After that I learned to write the similarities and differences of the two topics that I wrote about like comparing the Bugatti and Porsche 911 turbo; also I am able to write the steps of compare and contrast. I consider myself a lucky person because I got the chance to write and now I am able to organize my ideas in a professional way. And of course I will take these skills that I learned and apply them on my other courses. I believe that writing is a very useful tool for learning English and it helps us learn not only writing but also learning how to read and speak at the same time. Also we learned how to do a blogger and upload our work in the blogger to let others see it and learn more information from each other.

Storage Devices

Storage Devices
Part 1
This section is going to discuss the history of storage devices technology. As we all know, storage devices have been through many changes and developments. This technology has started with floppy disks. People around the world were using them. They were really popular. I used to save pictures and music on them but the storage was small and that made a problem of storage capacity. It didn’t satisfy people’s needs because they need more capacity. After that new technology came in and it was called CD-ROM (Compact Disc Read-Only Memory); this technology was a great invention; individuals and companies around the world were using it to save all forms of data and transfer. It also had different sizes, for example 700 MB to 900 MB of capacity actually it depends on personal need[1] (The Invention of Compact Discs.2005). After a while another new technology came, called the USB (Universal Serial Bus); today it is more popular than the CD; it has many different sizes from 1MB to 63MB and above. It comes in multi shapes and it is very useful specially for us as students, to store any kind of data. After the USB came the portable Hard Disk which has also become useful and it is used by a large group but it is more expensive than the previous storage device technology that I mentioned above.

Most people today are using different types of technology. It depends on their personal need. Nowadays most people are using more than one technology; for example I use a CD for saving music. It can be used for saving programs and small software. I use a USB for storing data like project documents because it is easy to use for deleting and adding any data; I use a hard disk for programs and spare copies of my important documents and data. Because some computers have small size of capacity so the people have a chance to save any size data.
Part 2
I am going to explain how this technology has impacted our IT. Storage devices are manufactured to make our education.  They are simple, conferrable and easy to use. These days data storage is a very important element in every field. So professionals always need somewhere to store their documents or any other data. They cannot live any more without storage devices. The technology of storage devices has improved efficiency. New systems for storing data are becoming very popular, which is the online data storage. I will explain how this system is working; this system evolved with a third party service, and this party stores our data in trusted servers.[2] (Storage devises.2010)

The future of storage devices is looking bright they will be much smaller and faster. A Japanese research team has discovered a super disk material that will have a low price and very high storage capacity. They say its storage capacity will be thousands of times greater than the DVD.[3] (Physorg.2010) So all other types of storage devices would be more advanced in the capacity, size and speed. People will depend on them more and more.
